942. Comparison of Antibiotic Susceptibility Across Minnesota Hospitals in 2019 and 2020 Using a New Statewide Antibiogram

Abstract Background Surveillance is imperative to successful antibiotic stewardship, but active surveillance resource-intensive. Regional antibiograms provide a supplementary method of while conserving resources. We developed the first statewide track susceptibility across state Minnesota and compared 2019 2020 data. Methods Hospital for were submitted Department Health in January 2022. Twelve organisms (Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-susceptible S. Acinetobacter spp., Enterobacter Escherichia coli, Klebsiella aerogenes, K. oxytoca, pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) selected analysis against 32 drugs, leading total 142 unique organism/agent combinations. The number isolates percent from each antibiogram used calculate weighted average as state-level susceptibility. Chi-square proportion susceptible non-susceptible between years. Results Submitted (n=40) represented 30% hospitals. reported decreased by 5% (n=85,010) (n=80,781), with E. coli having greatest (2019=41.7%, 2020=39.5%) isolates. Significant changes proportions occurred 33% analyzed combinations, 68% these showing increased 2019. All antibiotics tested P. aeruginosa demonstrated statistical increase (Figure 1).
